Biography: She is the youngest of two children, her oldest brother off in college and visits every weekend of every month just to have lunch and check up on things. Her mother is Laura Spears, a single mother who had a husband at one point and they managed to conceive Leona before he died of Lung cancer the month before Leona was born and Ben was only 6 or 7 at the time; she works as a Florist and used to home-school her daughter. Her only and older brother, Benjamin Spears, is 32 years old and was home-schooled as well, he graduated med school and went on to become a Doctor of the Neurological field and married Becky Dalton, who is two years younger than him and currently 4 months pregnant with their first child.

She met her girlfriend of 9 years at the high-school's homecoming football game and instantly fell head over heels for her. The two have not dared to cheat on the other, even though it has crossed their minds, they could never act on it because they love each-other way too much. When she came out to her mother at the time, her mother took it relatively well like her girlfriend's family had and Benjamin ("Ben") and his fiance (Becky) were happy for her. So, every year since then, she and Ruth attend the Pride festival with their parents. Meaning to say, she is very happy with her girlfriend and would even think of marrying her!
